Classic skirting boards, such as surface-mounted skirting boards or paintable skirting boards, are usually glued to the wall with mounting kit or glue. It is important that you attach them only to the wall and not to the floor. Do not spray or seal the seam between the skirting board and the floor. You can also use adhesive skirting boards, which you simply attach to the floor with a handy self-adhesive strip.
